The Naturals

Rob: Guitars; Harry: Guitars; Felix: Bass; Ky: Drums

Since their formation in a musty loft mid 2004, The Naturals have come a long way. From producing their debut; "The Robot EP" after joining the Bristol based REMIX Music Mentoring scheme, to slowly progressing through the stages of musicianship that every other developing band must go through while retaining their individuality along the way. Now three years on, a successful second release in the form of "The Anticipation EP" and well over 50 gigs later, including a featured band on the Steve Lamacq Show on BBC RADIO 1 and winning the 'Best Band' award at the Regional Youth Music Awards 2005 and a rapturously recieved set at Bristol Harbourside Festival in 2006 and 2007.

The band just keep on keeping on in the midst of exams and new laws passed effectively preventing younger bands from playing in their area.

" Bristol band The Naturals played a stormer of a set. The guys play a prog influenced indie rock twisted with a bit of grunge thrown in.” Charlie @ Blogger Frog Promotions

"Insanely talented teens!" - BBC RADIO BRISTOL UNCOVERED

"Low of age and high of quality Bristol foursome!" - VENUE MAGAZINE

"No one could believe that those guys are only 15! Their levels of musicianship and performance would put most bands with years of gigging experience to shame." - CHEW TV

"Ridiculously assured for such a young band!" - EVENING POST

"From established acts like Gravenhurst to buzz band The Naturals, it proves England 's 'quiet corner' is thriving like never before!" - MUSIC WEEK

Willie and the Bandits

Willie: Guitar; D Wood: Guitar and Drew: Drums

Wille and the Bandits were formed in January 2007 by three very talented musicians with backgrounds steeped in blues, funk, folk, rock and soul. When Wille’s natural talent for song writing is combined with the influences of traditional African music, hip-hop, and drum and bass, the resulting sound, is a driving country blues genre which brings a unique vibe which will leave listeners yearning for an encore.

In the short time since the band collated their collective talents, they have developed an ever increasing fan base in the South West, winning Plymouth ’s Walkabout battle of the bands, headlining their own nights and supporting such artists as The Beautiful Girls, Seth Lakeman, and The Martin Harley Band.

AlBenAza
Alex: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vox, Organ, Beatbox & Percussion
Ben: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vox, Piano, Beatbox & Percussion
Aza: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vox, Piano, Beatbox & Percussion

AlBenAza are a rock/roots/acoustic trio hailing from sunny Plymouth in the SouthWest. As a band they play a mixture of rock, reggae and acoustic ditties, all layered with tight vocal harmonies. All three are guitar-playing singer-songwriters, so there's no one lead singer - Al, Ben and Aza take turns as front man while the others provide the rhythm section, unless they're playing an acoustic show where all three will play acoustic guitars!

They have played with and supported the likes of mercury nominee Seth Lakeman, The Beautiful Girls, Breaks co-op(Zane Lowes band), Kubb, The Days, The Martin Harley Band, Carus and The True Believers, Australian singer/songwriter Mick Hart, Jackson Analogue, Two Spot Gobi as well as countless others. Live, AlBenAza have a reputation as being one of the most energetic bands on the circuit. Instrument swapping, beatboxing, random jams, and witty banter create a presence on stage that when coupled with great songs makes them a treat to watch.

Lemanis

Phil Baker - Bass, Vocals, Hammond Organ, Piano, Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Melodica, Fender Rhodes , Drums, Didgeridoo, Violin.

Plus 8 piece string and horn section

Plymouth based 4-piece band Lemanis have spent the last couple of years in and out of the studio recording their first album, and assembling a large army of superb musicians to back them up both in the studio and on stage. The little orchestra they've found includes a string quartet and horn section, as well as flutes and a female backing singer.

"Quite possibly the most talented foursome ever to come out of Plymouth , Lemanis have, in the form of 'Shell', created a true musical masterpiece. A breathtaking 13 track affair, bursting with gems, this album really is something special. I was lucky enough to see the bands album launch party at The Hub, where they were backed by a 10 piece orchestra... one word - stunning! With a sound this big, great tunes and talent aplenty, Lemanis have the potential to make it huge!" - Fly Magazine

"a HUGE sound... It sounds great" - Seth Lakeman

"When Brian Wilson was searching for the right musos for his 'Smile' project, he could have borrowed Plymouth 's Lemanis and got the job done in a week" - Backbone, 24/7 magazine

Head of Programmes

Influenced by Death and a general sense of doom, the enigmatically named Head of Programmes is in fact singer and multi instrumentalist James MacGregor whop collaborates with Brown Scotch - Bass Guitar, Keys, e-bow. Dom "Toothy McSplit" Parker - Acoustic/Electric Guitars, Drums, Amie Willingale - Violin and David James Strong - Drums

Orca

tommy-guitars/voices, si-guitars/voices, nick-bass, marc-drums, dan-voices

Formed in 1999 as a 4 piece in Ivybridge, Orca became a 5 piece band with the addition of Tom Ward in late 2000 and moved from primitive Nu-Rock to “intelligent Post Hardcore”.

In 2001, they were nominated by Steve Lamacq as 'Unsigned artist of the week' on BBC Radio 1 and were also played by Radio 1’s John Peel, Marian Hobbs, and Scott Mills. They were featured in a BBC3 TV programme about the UK's unsigned music scene including live footage of Orca on stage and their song 'Punchline' which was played on networks such as MTV, MTV2 and MTV USA.

In 2005 Orca took the radical step of archiving all their previous material and took time out to write a completely new set. Expect a new CD soon.

Scientist The Orange Pip

Jonothan Millichip - Ale Dictionary , Richard Thomas - Life-like Diary Jake Mullin - Veterinary Services, Lucas Webster – Political scientist

Scientist The Orange Pip is one of Plymouth ’s liveliest post-punk/prog-indie bands who strive to stun audiences over and over with their unique and versatile 'Braid meets Pink Floyd' euphoria.

Their energetic live sets, have seen have seen them support the likes of Reuben, The Infadels, Enter Shikari, The Mentalists, and Tribute to Nothing amongst many others.

Behind all the guitars-in-the-air and sweaty stage antics though are four dedicated individuals, who passionately believe that music is more than just playing an instrument, that music is an art, and an art that Scientist The Orange Pip are determined to perfect and pleasure the world’s ears with.

'Post-Punk may have enough players on the field right now but on 'Such An Accident' these young lads outstrip the limits of their native city to arrive at a bristling sound that combines Braid's fragmented hooks with Stapleton's melodic suss to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their peers at an international level.' - 24/7 Magazine

Trojan Leap

Dan - Lead Vox, Rhythmn and Riff, Looks, Sense Of Control, Nathan - Lead Guitar, Backing Vox, Instablity, Good Laughs, Sherwin - Drums,Sarcasm , Pungent 80s rock!

The Unpublished Apostles, Trojan Leap began with an idea among two friends of many years. For both of these friends played an instrument known as the guitar and they declared that they shall begin a band of such magnitude and ferocity that it would shake the very foundations of music. It took many weeks of searching for other members as they had musically gifted friends but alas they were already in bands of their own.

Then a beam of holy light hit these two companions square between the eyes and told them another man would begin a career in the art of percussion and so became the third member. And so the band began practicing and growing musical muscles holding very private gigs for the very elite few who were to hear them but all the while knowing they had a problem for there music was great but oh so empty and required a bassist. They searched and searched spent many millennia's trying to find someone worthy all the while not knowing an eager young roadie was the one who was to become the fourth and final member.

We are currently writing and gigging as much as possible trying to build up our stage muscles to be pulsating vein ridden beasts.

We've been Trojan Leap and you............well you've sat there very patiently a little fidgety though showed some support so cheers. The Leap Lads.

In Favour

Bri: Guitar/vocals; Roxy: Guitar/vocals; Charlie: Bass; Sam: Drums

Hey, we are a 4 piece band that officially formed in January 2007 at the Plymouth Music Zone with the arrival of Charlie on bass. Both Briony and Roxanne have been with PMZ since early 2006 playing under the title Broxy Music. Initially both learning to play guitar they soon moved on to writing original songs and playing gigs around Plymouth . In late 2006 the band penned their first EP the self titled Broxy Music.

At this stage the 2 piece was accompanied by PMZ music leaders Jo Phillips and Chris Trundle for live performances. The band then added their third member, drummer Sam Doel who quickly settled into the rhythm of the band and began thumping his commandment over the music.

The final addition came in the form of cocker-spaniel looking bassist Charlie, who under the tuition of Dave Hodge has become an accomplished musician with very strong timing and groovy licks. Following the bands completion, new songs have been penned compromising our new influences and we are now out gigging more than ever, listen out for our name and come watch the rising stars that are In Favour.
